Savory Fare, a home meal delivery service that prepares high-quality and reasonably priced fresh and frozen food, is expanding their delivery area into Cranston and Warwick. A part of Warren-based culinary incubator, Hope & Main, Savory Fare specializes in working with seniors and has been preparing food for clients living in the East Bay and Providence areas. Through clients, news articles, and other events like Hope & Main markets, word has spread, and people from other parts of the state have been asking for service.

“Mary Hughes came to Hope & Main with a clear vision of how she wanted Savory Fare to serve people who need help at mealtime, whether for convenience in a busy life or with shopping and cooking. She understands the needs of the older population, who may need help at a time when healthful eating is most important to their quality of life. Mary designed a prepared-meals business that is especially suited to meet their unique needs. I truly admire her focus and determination to make this noble business model a sustainable success. She is a great inspiration to women entrepreneurs.”

“We lucked out when we found Savory Fare,” says Kate Puleston, who read about the service in the East Bay paper and immediately thought of her father, who enjoyed good food and needed help with meal preparation. Not only did her father become a regular client but so did Kate’s mother. Savory Fare offers an easy and convenient solution to providing delicious, nourishing meals.

Savory Fare has been a boon also to seniors living in their homes who have difficulty with shopping and cooking. “I’d be lost without [Savory Fare],” says a client, Kay, who has been with Savory Fare since its beginning. She has trouble with prolonged walking and standing as well as arthritic hands, but she is able to continue living independently thanks to the meals delivered to her home each week.

Right from the start this service was wonderful. I always have prepared [and delicious] food in the freezer that I can heat up in the microwave with very little cleanup after eating.”

“The heart of the business,”says founder Mary Hughes, “is a desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives. We provide delicious and nourishing food with warm, personal service.”

Savory Fare meals are great for the elderly, empty nesters, those recuperating and in treatment, as well as new parents and busy individuals looking for convenience of prepared meals ready to heat and eat. We are honored to be one of the meal providers for the Gloria’s Angels meal delivery program, a program made possible by sponsors and donors to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.

As of November, Savory Fare is accepting orders from the West Bay. No minimum or subscription plan required. No delivery fee for orders $25 or over.
