West Side hosting pitch, hit and run
Warwick West Side Little League will be hosting a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition on Saturday, April 7, at Sprague Park.
Registration for the competition will begin at 8:30 a.m., while the actually competition will start at 9 a.m. Anyone ages seven to 14 is invited to come out, free of charge.
The competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14. Champions will be crowned, and the individual pitching, hitting and running champions, along with the all-around champion in each age group will advance to the sectional level of competition.
Competitors will have the opportunity to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2012 MLB All-Star Game.
Pitch, Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball.
