West Side seniors split first two games at states

The Warwick West Side senior all-stars opened play in the state tournament over the weekend, splitting their first two games.

West Side – the District 3 champions – lost its first game of the tournament 17-1 to Elmwood on Saturday. But the West Side stars bounced back, defeating Riverside 17-4 on Sunday to stay alive.

That win put West Side in the loser’s bracket final, where it will play Burrillville today. That game is at 5:30 p.m., in Chariho. The winner of that game will take on Elmwood on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the finals.
