Providence's youngest award-winning theatre company, The Wilbury Theatre Group, announces it's New Works Development program's inaugural production, Stuart Wilson's "It's A Spaceship Now"

Founded in response to a clear need for a program in Providence that develops new works, the New Works Development program is an additional program to the Wilbury Group's regular programming season. Headed by Director of New Works Susie Schutt, the New Works program will provide artists and playwrights from across the country the opportunity to develop new plays with the support of a professional theatre company.

"We couldn't be happier to have the force that is Stuart Wilson developing his new play with us," says Artistic Director Josh Short. "He's been a valued member of the Wilbury Group for years now and it's wonderful to see the imagination, passion, and hilarity that he's brought to our mainstage productions take shape in his work with Susie into his own work. We couldn't be more excited to kick off our New Works program with "It's A Spaceship Now" and look forward to it being only the first of many new works we bring about in the years to come."

About "It's A Spaceship Now"

Meet Stu, a man with the heart of a child, pursuing a dream after a lifetime of slacker survival. Join him as he uses his fondness for lists, free food and Star Trek to create the part he was born to play.

Directed by Susie Schutt, performer Stuart Wilson (Threepenny Opera, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity) will show you why It's a Spaceship Now, in the inaugural production of the Wilbury Theatre Group’s New Works Development program.

The inaugural offering from the Wilbury Theatre Group's New Works Development program, "It's A Spaceship Now" runs at 7:30pm Thursdays-Saturdays June 20-29, 2013. Tickets are just $15 regular, $10 for students and seniors. For more info visit www.thewilburygroup.org
