Willis H. Blair, Jr.


Willis H. Blair, Jr., 84, died Monday, September 4, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Elaine D. (Nicynski) Watkins.

A resident of Warwick for most of his life, he was the son of the late Willis H. and Frances L. (Bowman) Blair. Mr. Blair was employed as a boiler engineer with Roger Williams Hospital in Providence for 20 years. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the East Greenwich VFW and the DAV Chapter 9. He was proud to fly the American Flag at Conimicut Point, which he did for years.

He was the father of Anna LaFlamme, Sandra LaFlamme, William Blair, Robert Blair and Keith Blair; stepfather of Brenda Gomez, Connie E. Mero, and the late Albert C. Watkins; brother of Donald, Frank, Thomas, Glenn, John, Daniel Blair and Patricia Kirk. He was also the brother of the late Joan Gilberti, Robert and Gerald Blair and was a beloved grandfather and great-grandfather.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter where military honors will be accorded.
