Zelia E. (Joly) O’Neil, age 103, of Gaspee Point, Warwick, died on Thursday, January 9, 2017, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Francis C. O’Neil.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Drolet) Joly, she lived in Cranston and Wakefield before moving to Warwick over 20 years ago. Mrs. O’Neil was a devout Catholic.

She is survived by four daughters and two sons: Mary A. Gemma of Albany, GA, Anne E. Gerlich (Ira) of Palm Desert, CA, Francis M. O’Neil (Claire) of Warwick, Margaret M. Kaplan of Providence, Katherine M. O’Neil (Steven Kemph) of Warwick, and Patrick J. O’Neil (Mary) of Seymour, CT; and a brother, Joseph Joly of Cranston. She was grandmother to fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Armand Joly, Alice Drolet, Dora Boscarino, George Joly and Paul Joly.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, February 13, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 High Street, Wakefield. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield.
