Audrey A. McDermott, 83, of Narragansett Parkway, passed away at home February 2, 2010. She was the wife of the late Stephen G. McDermott. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Harmon S. Babcock Jr. and Grace A. (Miner) Babcock, she had lived in Warwick for the last 36 years. Audrey graduated from Cleary School and also St. Xavier Academy in 1945. She had worked at Bo Bernstein Advertising Agency, followed by the Division of Liquor Control in the Department of Business Regulation, State of Rhode Island, retiring in 2003. She leaves a daughter, Deborah M. Brayton, and two sons, Stephen G. and Gregory P. McDermott. She was the sister of Paul N. Babcock and the late Harry S. Babcock, grandmother of Sean and Alexis Brayton, Meghan, Evan, Tracey and Adam McDermott, and great-grandmother of Shealin Brayton. A funeral will be held Feb. 5 at 9 a.m. from Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St. at Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Peter Church, 350 Fair St., Warwick, at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
