If you want a clear example of financial elder abuse, you don't need to look any farther than the car tax. We have seniors that are paying as much for their car tax than they could sell their car for. In other words the car tax to them is 100% of value. As Mayor I propose we cut the car tax in half for all seniors over 65 and for all Veterans, one car per driver.

I also believe we should offer free transportation to and from markets at no cost to the seniors. I have spoken to several stores that have agreed to absorb the cost in return for their patronage making it a win-win-win situation. A win for seniors. A win for the stores that receive more business, and a big win for taxpayers that wouldn't have to pay a dime! The present Mayor is charging seniors more for a bus ride to these stores than a taxi cab would charge. I believe we should honor our seniors, not profit from them.
