We were lucky to have a beautiful Labor Day weekend this year. With all that has happened in 2020, it was great to be blessed with nice weather all three days!

On Monday, at Rocky Point Park, there was a boat flotilla and rally to support Donald Trump. It was really incredible to watch. No violence, no name calling, no anger. Hundreds of boats lined up … people cheering and waving flags. People coming together that believe in a common cause … to make America great again.

I am a Trump supporter. I refuse to argue politics with anyone. I believe that everyone has the right to their opinion. Having been self-employed my whole life, I believe in most the things that Trump stands for. I have worked hard and have built a great life for myself. I own a beautiful home in Warwick Neck. I believe in the American way, at least the one that I was brought up with.

I was born in the ’50s and watched my mom and dad work hard for everything they wanted. They never took hand-outs and didn’t believe in going into debt for something they desired. They saved their money until they could pay for it with cash. I remember when I got my first car. My dad said he would co-sign for me. After we filled out the paperwork, the gentleman at the dealership said he thought my dad was a great guy, but he had absolutely no credit history and couldn’t co-sign for me. He always paid cash for everything!

I’m against hand-outs and honor people that understand and believe in the same things I do. For the first time in my life I am collecting unemployment compensation. I run a bed and breakfast and as you can imagine that came to a screeching halt. I thank my president for helping me and understanding that even sole proprietor’s need help during these difficult times.

So, as we navigate the new normal as we call it, I am grateful that our leader is like-minded. Don’t get me wrong, I wish that President Trump would stay off Twitter and think twice before he speaks. He can be crude and tough sometimes. I don’t like name-calling and feel like it does not look good on a president.

Hopefully as we navigate the next few months, he will learn to be nicer, this pandemic will be over, and we can get on with our lives!

At Michigan rally last night, 15,000 chanted WE LOVE YOU. That has never happened before, anywhere, for any politician!
