A glimmer of hope

To the Editor:

With measured hope we may now begin to see gradual improvements in living conditions as more Americans become fully vaccinated. There is no certainty that this disease will subside in the short term as new variations of this deadly virus continue to surface. Yet certain trends seem favorable for an increase in improvements in the long timeframe of reference.

As the virus begins to come under control we should be grateful to all who have contributed: scientists, vaccine manufactures, medical professionals and first responders. We can now think a little more positively and begin to enjoy a few of life’s cherish pleasures.

Our hope is that in the coming months we may be able to gather in controlled groups and celebrate the upcoming feasts and holidays, beginning with St. Patrick’s and St. Joseph’s days, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, just to name a few. It will be a welcome sight to again give hugs and shake hands.

May our new near normal lives be grateful and start by sharing whatever means you can provide with those still very much affected by all the malady in their lives.
