St. Barnabas Church in Apponaug will hold a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony that will include carols followed by warm cider and treats at Dorothy Mayor Park next to the church Sunday, Nov. 28 starting at 4 p.m. The public is invited and those planning to attend are urged to wear masks.

 Drive-Thru Food Pantry

Spring Green Memorial Church will hold its monthly Drive-Thru Food Pantry Saturday, November 20th. Grocery bags of food will be distributed at 11:00am in the parking lot in the back of the church.  Spring Green Church bazaar

On December 4, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Spring Green Memorial Church, 1350 Warwick Avenue, Warwick will be having a holiday bazaar. There will be a baked goods table, children’s grab bags, holiday gifts, holiday

 Make a Festive Christmas Journal

Make a festive Christmas journal at a two part workshop at Warwick Public Library on Wednesdays, December 1 & 8 at 6:30 p.m. Fill your Christmas journal with photos and illustrations of the holidays, and create a decorative book to flip through or make a working journal to keep your holiday thoughts and memories. Bring a pencil, scissors, a glue stick, and paper— such as Christmas cards and envelopes, wrapping paper, sheet music, calendar pages, and gift tags. This free program is limited to 20 crafters.  Caot drive has 2 collection points

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church is sponsoring a coat collection for all ages and sizes through December 1st. All coats, new/like new and clean. Hats and gloves/mittens are appreciated as well. Collection boxes will be at Warwick City Hall – Main lobby and Warwick Public Library, Sandy Lane.

Model Railroad Club Open House

The Providence Northern Model Railroad Club will be hosting their annual two days open house on Dec. 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be taking place at 1175 West Shore Road in Warwick and there is a suggested donation of $2 for adults, a $5 maximum for families and free for children 12 and under. They are currently building a HO scale layout that is based on the New England area in 1985 from Providence to Northern Vermont and reaching Montreal Canada.  Christmas Fair

St. Augustine’s Church, will hold its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 15 Lower College Road, in Kingston. Wreaths and greens, baked goods, basket raffle, hand crafts, and Santa’s Attic. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand—photos encouraged. Masks required if not vaccinated.  Grand Chanukah at Warwick Mall

Chabad of West Bay will host music, entertainment, art and crafts, hot latkes, Chaunakah gift shop, lighting of giant balloon menorah, and Chanukah gelt to celebrate Chanukah Sunday, Nov.28 at 4:30 p.m. at the Warwick Mall.

 Car Menorah Parade

Rhode Island’s second annual Menorah Parade will take place on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m. Those joining the parade should assemble at Chabad of West Bay, 3871 Post Road, Warwick.  Holiday Basket Raffle at West Warwick Library

The Friends of the West Warwick Public Library are pleased to announce the return of the Holiday Basket Raffle to be held at the library, 1043 Main St. Two dozen gift baskets with themes for both children and adults will be on display from Nov. 29 through Dec. 10. Tickets, sold at the Circulation Desk, are 50 cents each or three for one dollar. The winning tickets will be drawn Saturday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. All funds raised will support library programs and services. The Book Nook and its annex, operated by the Friends and open during library hours, features hardcover and paperback books, CDs, DVDs and other items for sale at bargain prices.

 Creative writing workshops

The Collaborative, a nonprofit arts organization, will hold two Creative Writing workshops hosted by talented, local writer Eve Kerrigan. The workshops will take place on Thursdays, November 18th and December 16th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Collaborative gallery at 498 Main St in Warren. Eve Kerrigan is a teacher, editor, and a writer of fiction and personal essays. She is an enthusiast of all things amusing and creative. Her writing has been broadcast on The Public’s Radio and published in arc(hive), High Noon Magazine, L’Allure Des Mots, The Oddville Press, 521 Magazine, and other literary journals.  Holiday Bazaar at Phillips Memorial Baptist Church

Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, located at 565 Pontiac Ave. in Cranston, will host a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature basement bargains and treasurers, baked goods, crafts, jewelry, needle works, oldtiques and much more. A Coffee Nook will be open from 9 to 10:30 a.m.,

 7th annual Fez-tival of Trees

On Thanksgiving weekend, the Rhode Island Shriners will host their seventh annual Fez-tival of Trees. The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, located at 60 Rhodes Place in Cranston. There is a suggested $2 donation for adults at the door, and children 12 and under are admitted at no cost. There will be tree and wreath displays, free children’s activities, table raffles, a 50/50 cash raffle, penny socials, a holiday marketplace featuring crafters and artisans, refreshments at Mrs. Claus’s Café, musical entertainment and more. Pet food drive

Defenders of Animals will be hosting a pet food drive throughout the month of November. Please bring all donations to the Warwick Animal Hospital, located at 1950 Elmwood Ave. in Warwick. Drop off is Monday-Friday and ask for Tonya.

 Ocean State Artisans Holiday Craft Show

Ocean State Artisans will host its 30th annual Holiday Craft Show from Friday, Nov. 26, to Sunday, Nov. 28, at its new location at 1276 Bald Hill Road in Warwick. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission costs $3, with $1 off with a canned food donation.  Celebrating RI artists

Warwick Center for the Arts is hosting its 35th Annual RI Open through Nov. 20. The RI Open is WCFA’s annual exhibit of original artwork created by artists who live or work in Rhode Island. Each year, the organization looks forward to this opportunity to celebrate the creativity and artistic vision of Rhode Islanders. All media will be presented, such as drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, photography, digital arts and textile arts. The exhibit is free and open to the public.  Meat & lobster raffle every Saturday

West Bay Anglers will hold a meat and lobster raffle every Saturday starting Nov. 6 through March 2022 at the Warwick Firemen’s Association 750 Warwick Ave., Warwick starting at 1 p.m. Prizes include money, lobster, meats and appliances. One hundred percent of the profits will go to the to the impossible Dream, Veteran Angler Charters and Dare To Dream Ranch.

 Warwick Symphony Orchestra performances

The Warwick Symphony Orchestra will be presenting their Classical Autumn this November in Cranston and North Kingstown. The first performance will be taking place on Friday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge - Auditorium located at 2115 Broad Street, Cranston. It will also be taking place on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 3 p.m. at St. Bernard Church, which is located at 275 Tower Hill Road, in North Kingstown. Tickets for WSO performances are always available at-the-door, but also can be purchased online at www.wsori.org/performances; Tickets are: $15 General Admission, $12 seniors and for students with a valid ID. Tickets are free (but ticketed) for Children 12 and under.

 Chanukah at Cranston City Hall

Chabad of West Bay will hold a Menorah lighting with arts and crafts, hot latkes and more Thursday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Cranston City Hall lobby.

Chanukah at Pawtuxet Park

Menorah lighting, arts and crafts, hot latkes and more on hosted by Chabad of West Bay will be held Wednesday, Dec.1 at 7 p.m. in Pawtuxet Village. The event will take place at Narragansett Parkway and Post Road, in Warwick.

 Meals on Wheels in need of volunteers

Meals on Wheels of RI is in immediate need of volunteers for its Home-Delivered Meal Program in Warwick. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The program helps homebound seniors remain healthy, safe, and happy at home.
