The Warwick Beacon’s Athlete of the Week is Bishop Hendricken soccer player Jack Mefford. Mefford was a staple in the Hendricken offense all season long and went off in the postseason on the biggest stage. Mefford scored a pair of goals against Cumberland in the team’s semifinal win last week before adding another goal in the opening half of the state championship as the Hawks edged La Salle for their first title since 1998.
