Barry Blackinton 61, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at home with his loving wife at his side. He is the devoted husband of Jodi (Ellis) Blackinton with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Barry was born in Cranston, Rhode Island on August 28, 1961. He is the son of the late Walter and Edna Blackinton. He was a graduate of Pilgrim HS. Class of 1979. Barry has resided in So. China for the past 7 years and previously resided in Rhode Island. He was a United States Navy veteran, he held the rank of ASM 3 and served on the USS Nimitz. Barry was a small engine mechanic and worked for Bryan’s Lawn Mower Service for many years until having to retire due to ill health. Barry took great pride in taking care of his family and his home. He enjoyed being a homebody and puttering around his home..He was an avid New England sporsports fan and especially was a Patriots fan. He loved music.
He was a former member of the American Legion Post 43 in Rhode Island.
In addition to his loving and dedicated wife Jodi, Barry is survived by his son Barry Blackinton, II and his wife Kexuan of NC., his granddaughter Bethany and his devoted dog Miles. He is also survived by a niece and nephew. In addition to his mother and father, Barry is predeceased by his siblings Bruce Blackinton, Beth Lourenco and Bonnie O’Keefe.
