On Monday Sept. 20, the Boys and Girls Club of Warwick will host their 43rd annual golf tournament at the Warwick Country Club. The cost for individual players is $250. Corporate sponsor levels range from $150 for a Tee Sign, upwards. Entry fee includes lunch, dinner, snacks, green fees and more. All donations are tax deductible and help BGCW provide safe, fun, life-enhancing programming for area youth. Meals on Wheels of RI is in immediate need of volunteers for its Home-Delivered Meal Program in Warwick. The American Legion is searching for vendors for Saturday, August 14 from 12 to 4 p.m. The vendor fair will take place at the American Legion at 662 West Shore Road. On Saturday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Department of Environmental Management will hold a one-day Boat Rhode Island classroom crash course to certify boaters and water sports enthusiasts. Attendees will receive their RI Safe Boating Card upon completion of the course. A RI Safe Boating Card is required for all Jet Ski operators of any age as well. On Sunday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m., accomplished musicians, including a Grammy-winning bassist will fill the air with joyful and beautiful melodies. The outdoor concert will take place on the lawn at Asbury UMC in Gaspee Plateau (123 Ann Mary Brown Drive). Church parking lot and restrooms will be available to the public, but it’s encouraged that attendees bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs.
The concert is being held to help support free music schools at Zion Korean United Methodist Church and Haven United Methodist Church. Both churches will open free music schools for everyone. Toll Gate High School will hold a New Student Orientation on August 24, 25, and 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Robert J. Shaprio Cultural Center at the school. The orientation will include a brief presentation by school administration, a discussion of Graduation by Proficiency requirements, and the activities offered at the school. Toll Gate Student Ambassadors will conduct a tour of the school for parents and students.

Ann Eckert Brown has opened her new exhibit, Painted Rooms of Rhode Island, at the Warwick Public Library. The free exhibit will run from now until the end of August. The Warwick Veterans Memorial High School class of 1960 reunion has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18. The event will be held at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet at 1 Rhodes Place.
