Betsey R. Fugere, age 78, formerly of Warwick, RI for approximately 70 years and Port Charlotte, FL since 2010, passed away November 27, 2020. She was born December 13, 1941 in Providence, RI to Carmine and Angela M. (Ranaldi) Lopez.
Betsey was in the 3rd graduating class of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School in 1959 in RI and was part of the National Honor Society. Betsey loved to play cards, Rummikub and going to the pool and the beach. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed riding around on her golf cart.
Betsey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Robert P. Fugere Sr.; and her son-in-law, Thomas R. Major. She is survived by her daughter, Robin L (Fugere) Major of Warwick, RI and Port Charlotte, FL; her son, Robert P. Fugere, Jr. (Dawn Paolino) of Coventry, RI; grandchildren: Nicholas Paolino and Vincent Paolino (Kendra Levesque); great-grandchildren, Julianna and Ceraphina; her siblings, Joan A. Lopez of Warwick, RI and Port Charlotte, FL, and Fred (Paula) Lopez of Camarillo, CA and Warwick, RI; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday August 26, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. with a service to follow at 7 p.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.
