Betty J. (Osgood) Leach, age 91, a resident of Warwick for 37 years, formerly of North Kingstown, RI passed away at West Shore Health Center on May 07, 2020. She was the wife of the late Warren F. Leach, Sr.
Betty was born in Avon, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Ivan E. and Dorothy E. (Betts) Osgood.
She was employed for several years as a nurse’s aide at the Royal Manor Nursing Home in East Greenwich, RI and at Bostitch Manufacturing. She was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed family activities. Betty also enjoyed many hours reading, gardening in her yard and she loved the ocean.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna J. Butler of Warwick, RI and Wendy A. Berg of Mt. Vernon, ME and one son, Eugene A. Leach of West Warwick, RI; one brother, Harland E. Osgood of Brockton, MA; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was also the mother of the late Warren F. Leach, Jr., and James E. Leach; the sister of the late Gerald M. Osgood; and the grandmother of the late Stephen Leach.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of West Shore Health Center for the excellent care provided to Betty.
Her private funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. A celebration of her life will be held at a future time with family and friends.
