Boost your immune system

Your immune system is a network of tissues and cells that work together to defend your body against such things as viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites and even cancer cells. When your immune system senses some harmful foreign substance, it kicks into action by signaling molecules called cytokines. There are two kinds of immune responses : innate and adaptive. They work closely together but each have different functions. This may sound confusing, so to keep it simple, just think of your innate immune system as the first responders. The innate recognizes a problem and activates the adaptive immune system which works with memory, so it knows how to respond to a problem in the future.

It’s important to keep your immune system healthy so you are ready to combat illnesses. This was especially true when the Corona Virus hit the United States. The more compromised your immune system was, the less able you were to fight off the virus and the more serious your complications became. To use essential oils for your immune system, you can inhale them or dilute them with a carrier and apply them directly to the skin. They have been proven to reduce stress, promote sleep and ease pain. I like to combine several essential oils for a desired effect. The four that I use to help my immune system are Eucalyptus, Clove, Lavender, and Tea Tree. I will do a deep dive into what each of these essential oils bring to the table next week. With winter and cold and flu season fast approaching and Covid 19 still around, it’s important to keep your immune system in top shape. Other things you can do to boost your immune system are to make sure that your diet includes fresh fruits and vegetables, lots of whole grains and low- fat dairy products. Until then use these strategies every day. Eat a nutritious diet, maintain a moderate weight, and try to reduce your stress levels. Feel free to contact me at
