Fortunato "Lucky" A. Calabro, Sr., 88, of Warwick, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Artesani) Calabro, to whom he shared 52 loving years of marriage.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Rose (DiRocco) Calabro. A United States Army and Army National Guard Veteran, Fortunato went on to become a Foreman with Allens Manufacturing for over 40 years, prior to his retirement. He had a strong faith in Jesus and was a long-time member and volunteer of Cornerstone Church, where he generously gave his time and energy, touching the lives of many in his church community. He was known for his caring and tender heart, always putting the needs of others before his own.

Known as "Lucky" by his friends but "Nato" by his family, he grew up on Federal Hill and his Italian roots followed him to Warwick where he and Carolyn settled. He was an avid lover of Italian food, and had a passion for cooking, and preparing meals for his family, sharing not just food but joy and laughter around the dinner table. He also loved to travel with his family, cherishing memories from trips to Florida, New Hampshire, and Georgia. He enjoyed exploring new places, but nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his loved ones.

In his downtime, he enjoyed watching the NY Giants, Patriots, and Red Sox. He was formerly a dedicated duckpin bowler, a hobby he cherished for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving sons, Fortunato Calabro Jr., and his partner Sheri,  Eric Calabro and his partner Elizabeth Pinto, Daniel Calabro and his wife Rita, Keith Calabro and his wife Jennifer, and Kevin Calabro and his wife, the late Audrey Calabro; cherished sister, Eleanora Maher and her late husband Edward; adored grandchildren, Molly, Stephanie, Kristen, Stacy, Rachel, Jake, Lauren, Leah, Victoria, and Nicholas; six beloved great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He also leaves his cherished companion and cat, Tigger. Fortunato was the grandfather of the late Anthony F. Calabro “Tony”; and brother of the late Dominico and Anthony Calabro.

Relatives and friends are invited to join his Funeral Mass on Saturday, December  14, 2024, at 3:00PM, in the Cornerstone Church, 550 Cowesett Rd, Warwick, followed by Military Honors and refreshments in the church.
