Carlene Alberta (Silvestri) Aitken, 85, of Warwick, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Carlo A. and Florina (Abruzzese) Silvestri. She was the beloved wife of John Wallace Aitken.
Carlene graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Providence and then worked as a secretary for advertising and financial institutions throughout her life. She was an avid reader. She took great pride in maintaining a lovely home for her husband and relished decorating for each holiday, especially Christmas. She had a great love for all her family and friends.
In addition to her husband of fifty three years, John W. Aitken, she is survived by her loving daughters, Judy Layne Snow of Warwick and Jeri Larson of Summerville, SC, her brother, Ronald J. Silvestri of Bristol, her three grandsons, Alexander Snow (Lise), Jason Snow (Jocelynne), and Nathan Larson (Lee Ann), her five great-grandchildren, Grayson, Grant, Emelia, Isabella, and LyLee, and several cousins including, Alec Ciccone of Warwick, Michael McKenna of Berkeley, CA, Dennis McKenna (Renee) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Kevin McKenna of New York City, NY, David Abruzzi (Carol) of Smithfield, and Gay Hawkins (Michael) of North Scituate.
She was a cousin of the late Louise Lachapelle and the late Paul McKenna.
Her Funeral Services will be private. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave, Warwick.
