Carol A. (Sullivan) Gillooly, age 80, of Warwick, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Thomas E. Gillooly. They were married for 52 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Walter and Novell (Sunderland) Sullivan, she was a life-long Warwick resident. Carol was a lifelong caregiver; she demonstrated an amazing capacity for compassion from her earliest days caring for her family, her career in healthcare and beyond. Her special gift of patience and understanding touched all those she encountered, especially those she cared for with dementia, who held a special place in her heart. Her faith and family were everything to her and we will cherish the legacy of love that she has left with us. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Thomas Kiernan of West Greenwich; her son, Edward Gillooly of Warwick. She was a hands-on and beloved grandmother to her three grandchildren, Tayla Barreira, Owen Kiernan, and Cameron Kiernan. She has three brothers, James Sullivan of New Hampshire, Walter Sullivan of Warwick and the late Paul Sullivan; two sisters, Kathleen Villinis of West Warwick and Maureen Keiper of Narragansett; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 28, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.
