The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation has presented Ronald McDonald House Providence with a $10,0000 grant for the Adopt-a-Room program, supporting the new Day Room in the 28-bedroom facility. 

“We are delighted to have Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation join us once again, as a generous sponsor of our Adopt-A-Room program in support of the Moran Family Day Room,” Michael Fantom, CEO of Ronald McDonald House of Providence said in a statement. “RMH Providence is the only organization in Rhode Island to provide a home for families with critically ill children. To meet the increasing demand for our services, we recently added 10 bedrooms and program space, making us a 28-bedroom House. This growth means that we have a greater need for Adopt-A-Room program support. Centreville Bank is known for its commitment to the Rhode Island community; we are honored to consider them a partner in our Adopt-A-Room program and are thankful for their continued generosity.”

The Day Room’s amenities are designed to meet the needs of families who live close enough to the hospital complex to go home for the evening, but need a daytime respite that offers the comforts of home. Use of the Day Room is free of charge to families with a child in the hospital; amenities include free coffee, healthy lunches, drinks and snacks; a home-cooked meal every night; two private showers; two private nap rooms; a fitness room; laundry facilities; an enclosed courtyard and play area; and shuttle service from the House to the hospitals.
