Clair Florence (Langevin) Greenwood, 80, of Warwick, RI, passed away on July 8, 2020 at Kent County Hospital in Warwick.

Born August 31, 1939 in Providence, RI to Olive Rose (Favreau) Langevin and Louis Joseph Langevin of North Providence, Clair grew up in North Providence and graduated from North Providence High School. After high school she attended Johnson & Wales. She then worked for Narragansett Electric. Clair married Arthur Richard Greenwood Jr. on September 28, 1963. They moved to Greenville, RI and raised their family. Clair was a full-time mother and housewife. In 1978 the family moved to Warwick, RI. Clair worked for the Warwick School Department as the assistant librarian at Winman Junior High. She retired from the school department and set off to travel across the country with her husband. Later, they moved onto their motorsailer and traveled the Inter-coastal waterway to Key West and back. In 2000, Clair and Richard moved to Oriental, NC where they built a new home and operated a bed and breakfast for 15 years.

Clair was a talented artist. She worked in ceramics, stained glass, and basket weaving. She loved boating, camping, bird watching, and baking. Clair was a loving mother and wife; it was with great joy that she took care of others.

Clair is survived by her husband, Arthur R. Greenwood Jr. of Warwick; her daughter, Susan Greenwood Ryder and her husband John, of Rumford, RI; her sons: Jason Greenwood and his wife Kathy, of Smithfield, RI; and William Greenwood and his wife Sharon of Warwick, RI. She had five grandchildren: Emily Ryder, Joshua and Kaitlyn Greenwood, and Christopher and Matthew Veneri.

A memorial service will be held at a future date at Brushneck Cove in Warwick, RI.
