William F. Coty, Jr., 80, passed away Friday February 24, 2023 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Margaret (Wilks) Coty for 56 years. He was born in Providence, RI. He is the son of the late William F. and Camella (Moretti) Coty Sr. William was a utility worker for 40 years for Narragansett Electric until retirement. He also served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was also an avid gardener. He loved collected model cars and model airplanes. He loved going out with friends and also spending time with his family. He was a member of the American Legion. Besides his wife, he leaves his son William F. Coty III and his wife Dawn, Janine Cabral and her late husband Kenneth. He leaves a sister Emilie Chapman. Grandfather of Carly M. Patenaude, Margaret R. Coty, Joseph C. Dodd, and William F. Coty IV. Great-grandfather of Blake and Vayda Patenaude.
Funeral will be held Monday February 27, 2023 at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be Sunday February 26, 2023 from 2-5 PM. Burial with full military honors at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Ln, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
