Donna J. Shirley, 60, of Warwick passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Kent Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Cranston, she was the beloved daughter of Donald D. Shirley and the late Marcia G. (Greene) Shirley.
Donna graduated from Pilgrim High School and attended the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center for many years. She always greeted everyone with a smile and also a hug if she knew you. She loved jigsaw puzzles, and always had a word search book with her. She was a lover of jewelry, especially rings and getting a picture of everyone whether she knew you or not. Once you told her your birthday, she never forgot it and was very proud of that.
She was the loving sister of Deborah L. Fontes (Gary D.) and Thomas J. Shirley (Melissa A.). Loving aunt of Adam D. Fontes (Malaree L.) and Tara L. Fontes (Fiancé Devin J. O’Rourke). Loving great aunt of Noah D. Fontes, whom she would have loved to watch grow up. She was the maternal granddaughter of Francis L. and Helen A. Greene and paternal granddaughter of Harold and Eunice Shirley.
Her funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations to the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center or NORD donate@rarediseases.org, will be greatly appreciated.
