Edmund W. Trainor, 79, of Warwick died Tuesday at the Rhode Veterans Home in Bristol.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Frank P. Trainor and Margaret M. (Feeley) Trainor, he had been a resident of Warwick for the past thirty years. He was a graduate of LaSalle and Providence College. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Trainor was a pilot in the United States Navy. Upon completion of his service, he trained pilots for American Airlines. Always an entrepreneur, Ed owned several businesses and franchises before accepting a position with the United States Postal Service and later the Rhode Island Convention Center before retiring several years ago. He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing golf and was a past member of the Potowomut Golf Club.

He leaves a son, Brennan M. Trainor and his wife, Ammie of Bulverde, Texas; he was the grandfather of Andrew, Liam and Brody Trainor; brother of Frank P. Trainor of Florida, David M. Trainor of West Warwick, Margaret M. Trainor of Warwick, he also is survived by many nephews and nieces. He was a brother of the late Patricia M. Hunt, Thomas F. Trainor and Gerald P. Trainor.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday in Saint Paul Church, One St. Paul Place, Edgewood at 10 a.m. Calling Hours will be private. Facial coverings and Covid restrictions will be observed.
