It is moments before Filippou’s Twisted Pizza opens for the day and owners Frankie and Tula Rivera are busy putting some finishing touches on the pizzeria’s dining area. There have been some major changes at this longstanding pizzeria lately, and Tula’s sparkly new light fixtures look to be just what the room needed. Tula and Frankie have been hard at work giving Twisted Pizza a much-needed “facelift” since they took over the business in October of 2023. Meanwhile, the Rivera’s son and fellow co-owner Myles, is in the kitchen, firing up the stove in preparation for the day’s orders. Both families have a long history in the restaurant industry, with Tula’s experience dating back to 1985, and Steve’s back three decades. The family recipes and history of the Filippous can be traced back to 1967!
