A good summer film takes you on an adventure, and a great summer film takes you on an adventure you never forget. See eight Supreme Summer Movies with dazzling voyages and daring escapades at Warwick Public Library on Thursdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

On July 11, dig into Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), starring Harrison Ford and Karen Allen. Adventurous archaeologist Indiana Jones outwits rival archaeologist Belloq and his Nazi partners in a search for the Ark of the Covenant.

On July 18, explore Romancing the Stone (1984), starring Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas. Meek writer Joan Wilder and soldier of fortune Jack T. Colton spar with crooks while searching for a treasure in the Colombian jungle.

On July 25, journey Back to the Future (1985), starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. 1980s high school student Marty McFly struggles to make his parents fall in love after he accidentally catches his mother’s eye in the 1950s.

On August 1, pursue The Princess Bride (1987), starring Cary Elwes and Robin Wright. Stable boy Westley battles outlaws, rodents and merciless Count Rugen to rescue his true love Buttercup from marriage to evil Prince Humperdinck.

On August 8, chase The Fugitive (1993), starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. Wrongly convicted Dr. Richard Kimble tracks down the one-armed man who murdered his wife while U.S. Marshall Sam Gerard closes in.

On August 15, peel away with Speed (1994), starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. LAPD officer Jack Traven strives to rescue citizens trapped on a city bus that’s rigged to explode if the bus slows down below 50 mph.

On August 22, break out with The Incredibles (2004), starring Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter. Superheroes Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and their children Violet and Dash save the world from evil genius and rejected sidekick Syndrome.

On August 29, lift off with Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), starring Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana. Interstellar outlaws Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and Drax band together to protect the planet Xandar from Ronan the Accuser.
