Thomas C. ‘Chuck’ Folsom, Sr., a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Brentwood Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Nancy A. (Malone) Folsom to whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Born in Plant City, FL, he was the first of three children born to the late Warren M. and Navie (Hart) Folsom.
Chuck proudly and honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy aboard aircraft carrier U.S.S. Leyte (CVS-32) out of Quonset Point. It was during his time in the military that he met his wife Nancy while roller skating and they settled in Warwick to raise their family. He was a hard worker who took great pride in providing for his family and being someone his children’s friends could look up to. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed bowling, a hobby he excelled at. There were many games when he bowled a 299 and one time he achieved a score of 300…a perfect game. He also loved fishing and in his later years, spending the day at the casino.
Chuck was the devoted father of Thomas C. Folsom, Jr. (wife, Bobbie) and Marcine M. Folsom; cherished ‘Grampa’ of Matthew C. Folsom and his wife, Irina and ‘Papa’ to great-grandson Ethan C. Folsom; brother-in-law of Mike and Lynn Dixon and uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by younger sisters, Helen Folsom and Lucille Waters. Chuck also leaves behind his lifelong friend and Best Man Donald Turcol and longtime family friend, Donald Lucas who was always there with a helping hand in Chuck’s later years.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 10-11am with a Funeral Service at 11am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial with Full Military Honors will immediately follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
