Fredrick P. Peterson, age 93, recently residing at the Respiratory & Rehab. Center of RI in Coventry, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020.

Born in Warwick, September 18, 1926, the son of the late Frederick G. & Nellie A. (Cole), he lived in the Warwick and Cranston area for most of his life, and also lived next to his family in SC for several years. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Japan. He was head of maintenance at Allens Mfg. in Providence for many years, retiring in 1989. He previously worked at Mann Auto Sales, Cotti Texaco and the City of Warwick as an auto mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and owned over 100 throughout his life.

He is survived by two sons: Raymond F. Peterson of Camden, SC (Phyllis) and Peter J. Peterson (Nancy) of West Warwick, RI; three grandsons: Andrew (Alicia) of Chapin, SC, John of West Warwick, Matthew (Nicole) Peterson of Warwick; a grand-daughter, Becky P. (Justin) Fields of Columbia, SC; and a great-grandson Nathan Peterson; nephews, Raymond and Gary (Sherriann) Peterson; great-nephews Ray & Gary. He was predeceased by his wife, Hope L. (Crowley) Peterson, married for 48 years; and his brother, Raymond J. Peterson.

His family would like to acknowledge and thank the devoted staff of the Respiratory & Rehab. Center of RI and Beacon Hospice for their outstanding care.

Due to the current pandemic, his funeral and burial in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick, will be private.
