George Albert Hawksley, 80, of Warwick RI died Friday November 20, 2020 peacefully at home. He was born in Cranston, and raised in the Hillsgrove area of Warwick. George was the beloved husband of the late Juliet D. (Rohweder) Hawksley.

George served in the United States Army as a personnel clerk and always spoke fondly of his time stationed at Fort DeRussy in Honolulu, HI. He was a graduate of Bryant University. He loved his hometown of Warwick and served his community in many ways. As a lifetime member of the Warwick Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a coach in the Warwick American Little League for over 20 years, a member of the Warwick Central Baptist Church and the Warwick Public Library's Socrates Club.

George worked as a personnel manager throughout his career for companies including; Welch Manufacturing, Sweda International, and Hasbro. In his later years he worked at L Vaughn Company, Macy’s, and The Fabric Place. His love, compassion, wisdom, and humor that he shared with everyone who knew him was extraordinary. A true people person with an immense passion for sports and music, his presence will be deeply missed.

He was the father of Audrey R. D’Ambruoso, Arthur R. Hawksley and his wife Lisa, Geoffrey G. Hawksley. The grandfather of Nikki Hawksley, Nickolas Hawksley, Lucas Hawksley, Talia D’Ambruoso and the great-grandfather of Saphira Alicea and leaves his loving sister Linda Anderson. George also leaves a great many people who loved him dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation to be held Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. His funeral service and burial with Military Honors will be private. Facemasks are required and social distancing will be observed.
