George E. Grayson Jr., 76, formerly of Manolla Avenue, died March 1, 2021 at (place of death) in Sebastian, FL. He was the beloved husband of the late Kristy J. (Deptula) Grayson.

Born in Providence, RI, the son of the late George E. Grayson Sr. and the late Lillian M. (O'Brien) Grayson, he had lived in Warwick for 45 years before moving to Sebastian in 2012. He served aboard the USS FRANCIS MARION (APA-249), a US Navy Paul Revere-class attack transport, during the Vietnam War as part of the Navy’s Amphibious Force in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean. George received a bachelor’s degree from Johnson & Wales University in 1977. He was employed as a driver for Emery Worldwide/Emery Air Freight Services. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and American Legion William Shields Jr. Post 43 in Warwick. He was a family man who enjoyed time with his kids & grandkids, and he loved fishing and camping.

George is survived by four sons: Christopher G. Grayson & his wife Cathy Grayson of Warwick, George E. Grayson III & his wife Cheri Grayson of Greene, RI, Steven K. Grayson & his wife Lori Grayson of East Greenwich, RI, and Joe Garner & his wife Andrea Garner of Georgia; one daughter Michele E. Grayson of Naples, FL; one sister Kathryn C. Grayson of Amherst, MA; eight grandchildren: Elijah, Vivian, Adam, Seth, Sara, Alyssa, Jillian, and Dylan Grayson, and one great-granddaughter Ellie Grayson.

A committal service, followed by military honors, will be held in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter on Monday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow. Everyone attending is invited to gather on the cemetery’s main road, just past the Administration Building, by 9:50 a.m. Facemasks required. Social distancing must be practiced. Attendance inside the chapel is limited to 30 people.
