George Edward Maden

George Edward Maden born on February 18, 1937 in Providence, Rhode Island passed away on Saturday June 12, 2021 at the age of 84 at his home in Dover, NH surrounded by family.

He moved to New Hampshire in 1974 but Rhode Island always held a special place in his heart. He maintained friendships with some of his grade school classmates and attended Lockwood Senior High School reunions regularly for sixty years. As a young man George worked at many jobs ranging from farm hand to dishwasher and mail carrier to police officer. Ultimately, he made a career in the insurance industry retiring in 1999 after more than two decades as a commercial insurance underwriter in Boston.

George married his sweetheart Barbara [Jones] Maden in 1958. For more than six decades together they shared countless adventures and created a lifetime of memories. They enjoyed road trips throughout New England and camping in North Conway, NH, Foxboro, MA and Rhode Island. Through their travels and seasonal campground stays they made many treasured friends.

The greatest joy of George's life was his family. In addition to his wife he is survived by his loving sons and daughters-in-law Keith and Joanne [Kolis] Maden of Dover and Barry and Tara [Nutile] Maden of Nashua, as well as his cherished grandchildren Jake, Khali, Zoe, Sam and Mia. George is also survived by his sister Barbara [Maden] Davis of Texas, sister-in-law Linda Maden of Cape Cod as well as a nieces and nephews; he was predeceased by his brother Jack Maden.

An intimate graveside service in celebration of George's life will be held Thursday June 17, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the East Cemetery in Hollis NH.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
