George W. Manna

George W. Manna, 90, passed away April 23, 2020, at West Shore Health Center, do to COVID-19.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Zack and Anna (Rahid) Manna. Mr. Manna worked for the Providence Journal Company in the Cafeteria for 42 years. Subsequently, he worked in the Dietary and Nutrition Department at Elmhurst Extended Care Center. He was recognized by the organization as the first employee hired to retire after 8 years of service. George was a communicant of St. George Maronite Church in Cranston.

He was the beloved uncle of Patricia L. Beauchemin and her husband Lionel, and Elizabeth A. Manna, all of Warwick. He was the great-uncle of Joel G. Beauchemin and hi wife Jaclyn, great-great-uncle of Jameson and June Beauchemin. Mr. Manna was the brother of the late Joseph A. Manna and Louis J. Manna (retired Providence Journal employee).

The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to the administration, the nurses, CNAs, Activities and other staff members of the West Shore Health Center for their dedication, loving care and supportive presence with George as he left this world. He will always be remembered for his endearing humility and engaging smile.

His funeral and burial were private. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. George maronite Church or West Shore Health Center Activities Fund.
