Gerald J. Habershaw

Gerald J. Habershaw, 57, died Saturday, November 27, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Beth A. (Zielinski) Habershaw and the son of Grace (Homic) Habershaw and the late Robert J. Habershaw. Gerry received his bachelor and master degree in education from Providence College. He started his career as a special education teacher at Pilgrim High School. He later served as: assistant principal at Aldrich Junior High School; principal at Warwick Veterans Memorial High School; and finally, principal at Pilgrim High School. He was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School where he was a standout in baseball, basketball and football and was inducted in the Bishop Hendricken Hall of Fame in 2014. Gerry gave back to his community and his school. He coached for many years at Pilgrim High School, Salve Regina College, and Bishop Hendricken. He was an avid golfer and a member of Kings Crossing in North Kingstown. Besides his wife, he leaves four children: Jared L. Habershaw, Christian T. Habershaw, Zoe B. Habershaw, and Tessa A. Habershaw. He also is survived by his brothers, Robert J. Habershaw and David Habershaw. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane, Warwick.
