The Eastern Connecticut State University field hockey program has been recognized with both team and individual academic awards for the 2019 season.

For the sixth straight year, the program has qualified as a Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for accumulating a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.00 in the fall of 2019. In addition, 15 of the 23 roster players qualified for the National Academic Squad for having recorded a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 through the fall of 2019 - the most among the seven Little East Conference institutions which sponsor the sport.

In addition, for the fifth time in six years, the program features an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction in sophomore Mary Greenwell (Warwick), who become the program's eighth such honoree since 2014 for achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.90. A two-year member of the program, Greenwell is majoring in political science and is currently interning with the Connecticut General Assembly in Hartford and aspiring for a career in politics.

In all, 18 of this year's team members show a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 (with another at 2.99) through this past fall. The fifteen National Academic Squad qualifiers are the most in program history and give the Warriors a total of 121 in 19 years of the NFHCA program - 38 in the last three years alone.
