David "Chuck" G. Holm, 72, of Warwick, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John K. and Ruth L. (Jerrolman) Holm.
As the proud owner of "Holm Service Center" located in Warwick, Chuck was not only a businessman but a cornerstone of the community, known for his unwavering commitment to excellence and service. His dedication to his work touched the lives of many, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of mechanics and car enthusiasts.
Chuck was also a celebrated figure in the racing community, having made a name for himself as the owner of the Pro Stock #6, competing fiercely in the Pro Stock division at Seekonk Speedway during the 80s and 90s where he won three consecutive championships, a testament to his skill, determination, and love for the sport.
In his later years, he dedicated much of his time to volunteering at the William Shields Post #43 American Legion. His passion for helping others shone brightly as he cooked for various functions, including events for the Department of Rhode Island. As the House Committee Chairman and engineer of the American Legion’s Train 40/8, he made significant contributions while fostering a spirit of camaraderie among our veterans and community members.
He is survived by two daughters, Kellie M. Derensis and her husband Mario of Warwick and Cassandra E Holm of Coventry; a sister, Karleen Wrath of Warwick; two brothers, John K. Holm III of Warwick and Thomas "Jake" Holm of Warwick; two grandchildren, Ariel and Joseph Derensis of Warwick and two great-grandchildren, Malcolm and Marshall Genest.
At David's request his burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
Chuck's kindness and infectious spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
