Ask Honesto Aguinaldo the names of his brothers and sisters and his parents and the St. Rose of Lima third grader rattles them off. Well, of course, that’s what you’d expect only, in this case Honesto’s name is Tim and he’s a Cratchit.
Honesto plays Tiny Tim in Trinity Rep ’s 42nd annual production of A Christmas Carol opening today and running through Dec. 29th.
Among the ten most-attended productions of A Christmas Carol in America each year, Trinity Rep ’s production has become a southern New England tradition, serving over 1.6 million people since its inception more than four decades ago. Last year ’s production was the highest -selling show in Trinity Rep ’s
history. Tickets start at $27 and are available online or
by contacting the box office at (401) 351-4242.
Honesto loved the spotlight when the Warwick Beacon visited his classroom Tuesday. His classmates gathered around him, mugging for the camera. He took it all in stride like he’s been doing it for years. Actually, he has had roles in other production, although this is a first with Trinity.
Honesto said he was selected for the role after two auditions. He’s been boning up on the show between schoolwork.
Third grade teacher Jen Liddle doesn’t imagine Honesto will have an issues keeping up with the class.
Honesto reminded his classmates he’ll be wearing a cast for the performance and carrying a crutch – after all Tiny Tim has a broken leg. And just for good measure, as a poor kid with a tough life, he gave a sorrowful expression.

Apollo
Cute kid. Sounds like a re-make of the original London version.
