Sixth grade students at Warwick Veterans Middle School collect sap to turn into maple syrup as part of their project based learning (PBL) class taught by Patricia Bastia. This is the second year Mrs. Bastia has helped students through the maple sugaring project, and last year, students collected 37 gallons of sap. Students are responsible for the entire process, from tapping the trees, to installing the spigots, and boiling down sap.rur
