On November 16th, Iggy’s Doughboys and Chowder House began promoting “Toys For Tots,” a foundation that raises funds, purchases toys, provides promotional and support materials, manages all funds raised and donated, solicits corporate support, educations the public, and handles day-to-day operations. Today, the Marine Toys For Tots Program distributes an average of 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate children.
Iggy’s has been doing this for several years and it is helpful to both the business as well as the foundation they are supporting. “This is very important to us,” said Lynn DeSousa, the Executive Assistant of the Warwick location. “Especially because we are able to help the children.”
The promotion will be going until December 14th but only at the Oakland Beach restaurant. A member of the Marines is normally sent to pick up the toys and be included in a special ceremony but due to COVID-19 restrictions, may not be able to do so this year.
Customers will receive six free doughboys or six free clam cakes when they bring in a toy of $5 value.
