Irving Leon Shein, 89, of 30 Leroy Avenue passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 6, 2020 at his home with his children.

He was the loving husband of the late Daphne J. Shein, and a devoted companion to the late Clare F. Pisaturo for many years. He was a lifelong friend of Richard Carey. He was the owner of North East Screen Printers and enjoyed supporting local schools, sport clubs and businesses. He was an active member of the Police Athletic League of Warwick and served as its president. He proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War maintaining electronic communications aboard the aircraft carrier Antietam. Irving also served on the vestry and as senior warden of Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church on Warwick Neck Avenue for over 40 years.

He is survived by his four children Stephen A. Shein, Robert S. Shein and his wife Elizabeth Reid Lossee, Melissa L. Shein and her husband David M. Engley and David M. Shein, his eight grandchildren, Sarah, Graham, Helena, Oksana, Natasha, Alton, Kyle and Collin and one great-grandchild, Owen and his three sisters, Elizabeth Perry, Judith Duffy and Sandra Burns, and scores of nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Lee. He was the brother of the late Suzanne Badger, Robert P. Shein, Edward Dockery and Dorothy Perkins.

He will be missed by all who knew him and appreciated his gentle manner and integrity.

A memorial service will be held at a later time. Burial will be private.
