James A. Hill Jr., 79, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James A. Sr., and Lillian (Taylor) Hill. He was a 56-year member and retired from UA Local 51 (Previously, Plumbers Local Union 28).
Growing up in Pawtuxet Village he was an avid fisherman for many years and loved spending time on the ocean, with family and friends, on his boat. He could frequently be spotted with friends playing pool and signing karaoke at the VFW Post #183 in Warwick or at Mr. Biggs in Johnston.
James was the beloved father of Raymond J. Hill and his wife, Annette, Stacy J. Gauvin and her husband, Raymond and Lynne M. Gallant. He was the brother of Doris E. Butterworth and the late Nancy A. Conti; loving grandfather of Courtney Gallant, Jarrod Gallant, Tayla Hill and James Hill; best friend and great-grandfather of Chase, Devin, Riley, Eric and Nicholas. James was greatly loved and will be missed by so many.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial will be private.
