Jerry Allan English

Posted

Jerry Allan English was born on April 19th, 1953, in Nashua, New Hampshire to the late Donald L. English and Jeannette O. Thibodeau. He passed away peacefully on March 22, 2022, at the age of 68 with his daughter and grandson lovingly by his side.
Jerry lived a storied life as a musician, beginning his career at the age of 13 with his debut on New Hampshire Bandstand in the 1960's, and carried his talents through the 1970's, 80's and 90's. From the bands of Gypsy Amber, to Driving Force, to The Burnouts, Jerry and his fellows rocked thousands of crowds across New England, New York and Canada.
In addition to his musicianship, Jerry was an equally talented carpenter by trade. In the 1990's he moved to Warwick, Rhode Island where he applied his skills to lead in the remodeling and reconstruction of the Warwick Cove Marina, where he would work and live for the next 28 years.
Jerry approached life with an open heart, a positive outlook, and an ethos of "there are no problems, there are only solutions." An entertainer at heart, he was sharp-witted and funny, with a gift for making others laugh, and he enjoyed recounting his many travels. His family will remember him as a silly, warm, and loving man with a strong heart, stronger hands, and a keen mind.
Jerry was both greatly loved and respected in his community and has since been memorialized by the successors at Fairwinds Marina, formerly known as Warwick Cove Marina. A sign for "Jerry's Fuel Dock" hangs high over the cove, where his heart and soul will remain forever.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Jessica A. English and grandson Alex English. He also leaves his brother Timothy English, his sister in-law Paula, his nephew Ian, his nieces Erica, Elisa, and Erin and 9 great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday April 28, 2022 at 4 pm at Fairwinds Marina, Warwick RI.
