Joan Kane Morgan, 84, passed away at home with her loving family by her side on April 12, 2021. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Louise (Cormier) Kane; beloved wife of Raymond Morgan Jr.

Joan raised four boys and two girls on Plainfield Street in Providence. She was an active hockey Mom, and through hockey obtained lifelong friends who became family, especially Steven and Evelyn Gemma. They enjoyed traveling together to Las Vegas, going on cruises, and having family parties together. Joan enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, and knitting for all her loved ones. She knew how to make a house a home, not only with her ironed table cloths and her Wedgewood collection, but with her love of cooking and hosting. She could often be found at the kitchen table, with curlers in her hair. She was an avid bookkeeper and enjoyed reading and doing Suduko puzzles. All who knew Joan knew to expect a beautiful card with a thoughtful handwritten personal message on their birthday and special occasions.

She was the devoted mother of David R. Morgan (Deborah), Paul D. Morgan (Gina), John P. Morgan (Tracy), Cheryl A. Morgan, Daniel E. Morgan (Jessica) and Kathleen Morgan (Santurri); cherished grandmother of Michael (Brooke), Jessica, David, Ryan, Jordan, Amanda, Zane, Morgan, Xavier, Ty, and a great-grandson Jacob; sister of Helen Sousa. To all those who knew and loved her, she will always be remembered as “Ma Morgan.”
