JoAnn Barbato, of Warwick, has been named senior vice president of operations at Rhode Island Medical Imaging, John A. Pezzullo, MD, RIMI president, has announced.

“For over two decades, JoAnn has been an integral part of RIMI’s success, bringing dedication, expertise and visionary leadership to every role she has held,” said Pezzullo. “Her continued advancement within the organization is a testament to her impact and the respect she commands across our team. We’re proud to recognize her contributions and look forward to the continued strength and direction she will bring as she helps shape RIMI’s future.”

Barbato joined RIMI in 2004, beginning as an accounts-receivable supervisor and most recently as the chief operational officer. In her new role, she is responsible for managing daily operations at RIMI headquarters in Warwick and at all 16 imaging facilities throughout the state.

Barbato collaborates closely with internal departments including clinical, finance, human relations, IT and legal, as well as with outside affiliates, coordinating contract negotiations and partnerships. She lives in Warwick with her husband.

“I am incredibly grateful for the growth I've experienced with RIMI over the years,” Barbato said in a statement. “As a woman in health care, I’ve felt truly supported by this organization and I’m proud to see RIMI consistently elevating women. It’s one of the most caring and compassionate health care organizations I’ve known – always putting patients first. Our team truly feels like a family, and I’m honored to lead and support us as we move forward together.”
