John J. Fahey

John J. “Jack” Fahey, age 86, of Warwick, passed away at home on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Born in East Providence, the son of the late John J. and Eileen T. (Garvey) Fahey, he lived in Narragansett for most of his life, moving to Warwick seven years ago. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Brown University in 1957, and earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Rhode Island College in 1969. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.Mr. Fahey was teacher of mathematics in the Warwick Public Schools, for most of his career at Warwick Veterans Memorial High School.  He served as Department Chair in Mathematics at Gorton Junior High School before retiring in 1989. He is survived by three nephews and a niece: John J. Paquet, Jr. of West Warwick, Eric M. Paquet of Coventry, Vanessa E. Strain of Warwick, and Owen M. Paquet of Warwick; and nine grandnieces and grandnephews.  He was the brother of the late Ellen T. Paquet. His funeral was held on Tuesday, December 7, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.  Burial with military honors was in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
