Lawrence G. “Larry” Sweeney Jr., age 73, of Warwick, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of Robin A. (McAloon) Sweeney and the late Susan (Fortin) Sweeney.
Born in Mt. Vernon, New York, a son of the late Lawrence G. and Edith (Aldrich) Sweeney, he lived in Warwick for many years. Larry was self-employed as a truck driver before retiring. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and was very active at Seekonk Speedway. He was a life member of the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Co., a member of the East Greenwich Firemen’s Club and William Shields Post #43 American Legion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Lawrence G. Sweeney of Blairsville, GA; a step-daughter, Keri A. Thompson of Warwick; a step-son, Michael D. McDermott of Warwick; a brother, Daniel T. Sweeney of Warwick; and several nieces and nephews.
