Lawrence Main Baxter Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Alan and Bertha (Jackson) Baxter.
A member of both the Local #251 and Local #618 Teamsters Unions, Larry was a career truck driver and had retired as a bus driver from RIPTA. He was also a lifelong member of the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Company.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years Shirley R. (Beaulieu) Baxter; sisters Winifred Dale and Edna Dale; brother Walter Baxter; son and daughter-in-law Larry Jr. and Eleanor Baxter, and son Daniel Baxter. He is survived by grandchildren: Kevin Baxter and wife Mackenzie and Kaitlyn Baxter and a great-granddaughter Bella Rose Baxter. He was the brother of the late Fredrick Baxter and Carol Boisevert.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. with a service to follow at 6 p.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick.
