Catherine N. (Georgeadys) Louth, age 95, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Kent County Hospital in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Louth to whom she shared 56 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2006. Born in Providence, she was one of six daughters born to the late Nicholas and Melachrini (Kandarakis) Georgeadys.
In her younger years, Catherine was a member of the Cranston Bowling League and most recently enjoyed spending her time at the Pilgrim Senior Center. There, she liked playing Bingo and found friendship with a group of women affectionately dubbed the ‘KnitWits.’ Together, they handknit hats for newborn babies and scarves, hats and mittens for individuals in need. Above all else, she most enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the devoted mother of Dennis J. Louth and his wife, Spery, Stephen N. Louth and his wife, Marie, Margaret T. Louth, Barbara A. Cahoon and her husband Raymond, Maryellen Louth and Paul J. Louth and his wife, Sally; cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Constance Georgeadys and the late Julia Papadoulias, Anastasia (Ann) DeBernardi, Mary Bablenis and Dorothy Tsatsos.
Her funeral will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, at 8:45am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a service to follow at 10am in the Church of the Annunciation, 175 Oaklawn Ave., Cranston. Burial will immediately follow in the RI Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation in the Funeral Home, Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4-7pm.
