Jean M. Lynch, 83, of Warwick, died peacefully on June 22, 2025, at West Shore Health Center. She was born on January 14, 1942, to Eugene A. Lynch and Dorothy A. Chapman in Warwick, RI.

Jean is survived by the three cousins, Kathleen Lynch, Dorothy Horan and Rita Barbone, her nieces Melissa Smith (Douglas) and Brenda Glover. As well as many great nieces and nephews. She predeceased her parents, best friends Dorothy and William Glover and many other family members.

Jean graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High. She graduated from Salve Regina (College) University with her BS in nursing. She went on to get an MBA at Nova University in Florida.

She was the Director of Nursing Education at Kent Hospital and worked in various administrative and teaching positions throughout her career. In her later career she found her passion working with children and loved sharing her faith with them. She was the director of a preschool working with 3- and 4-year-olds. Jean was also an associate member of the Sisters of Providence, and St. Mary of the Woods in Indiana.

She was parishioner at Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota Fl and participated in several ministries and volunteered at the Church Office and Sacristy. The family was founding members of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Warwick, RI.

Jean was a lifetime member of Central Grange. She was also the Director of Jr. Grange Activities for the RI State Grange.

Jean rescued her beloved cat Callie after she was given up by her elderly owner who had to go into a facility. Jean spoiled Callie so much that she even had her own chair to watch TV in with Jean. When Jean needed to go into a facility, she made sure that her baby was well taken care of.

She loved to travel. She went on an Alaskan Cruise with her friends and their mothers when the mothers were in their eighties and had to climb down a rope ladder in order to go ashore. She also visited Italy.

She shopped and decorated her home for every holiday and season.

She was proud of her Irish ancestry. She also enjoyed dining at her favorite restaurants with friends in Florida. She loved the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. She also was a big fan of URI basketball.

Jean’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church, School Street, North Kingstown, RI on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Burial in Church of the Incarnation Memorial Garden of Sarasota, FL will be held at a later date. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
