Patricia J. (Fogerty) Malley, 89, of South Kingstown, RI, previously residing in Warwick for many years, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, in Wakefield, RI. Pat was born on July 6th, 1935, in Providence and was the daughter of the late John E. and Monica (Sullivan) Fogerty. She was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty years, James J. Malley.
Pat retired from the New England Telephone Company with over twenty years of service as a telephone operator. While working, she enrolled at the University of Rhode Island and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in gerontology with high distinction and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was a devoted catholic, regularly attending Sunday mass and continued to receive Holy Communion until the time of her passing.
One of her many passions was sewing and could make anything from prom dresses to boat cushions. She loved her children and supported them in numerous activities including scouting, paper routes, book reports, swimming lessons, science projects, and typing school papers. She enjoyed boating activities with her family and was known to catch a fish or two and earned the title of first and best mate while on various sailing excursions with her family. She adored her grandchildren and was always excited to hear about their endeavors and achievements.
Pat lived a great life and was loved by many. She will be remembered for her patience, kindness, calming personality, quick wit, and humor. She will be greatly missed and our memories of her will always be cherished.
She is survived by her eight children, Elle (Greg) Hickey, Dennis (Susan) Malley, Kerri (Mike) Cardoza, Jeanne (Michael) Torti, Patrick (Kelly) Malley, Ted (Donna) Malley, Joseph (Christine) Malley, and Mary (Doug) Anderson. She has fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Margaret Mary King. She is predeceased by 3 brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brightview Commons, Hope Hospice, and Elderwood of Scallop Shell at Wakefield for their care and support they provided to Pat.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 8:45am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Rd., Narragansett. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter at 12:00pm. VISITING HOURS will be on Wednesday, December 4 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
